The Christmas Pudding
With probably my last outing of the year, the decade even, would my fishing continue to to be a Turkey, would Santa offer some piscatorial respite, or would I end up a bit of a Christmas Pudding?

So on Sunday with the sun shining and the frost still lying fairly thick at midday I headed along to Swanswater for a few hours. I usually enjoy my winter fishing, especially out in the sun on an otherwise cold day.
Read MoreI went fishing for Grayling, at last, for the first time this “winter”. OK technically it is still most definitely Autumn and depending whether you opt for the meteorological definition or lunar definition, winter is still 3 or nearly 6 weeks away. That didn’t stop Jack Frost visiting overnight Friday and temperatures were as low as -7C in some parts of Scotland, though a balmy -3C here in Stirling when I headed off. Actually it didn’t seem that cold despite what the thermometer said as there was the dripping sound of a slight thaw from the trees around my house.

I hate Swans, possibly more than Cormorants! Even when I moved right over the other side, the sodding things followed me! I have had this before up at Pendreich, the Swans make a B line for me then want me to move when I have moved away from them. I must be a Swan Magnet a target for their “white hate”
