I was in two minds to go fishing today ( Sunday) when I went to bed on Satrurday, but the weather while looking decidedly milder wasn’t looking particularly settled and my weather app at least suggested it might be a bit of a wet and miserable day. Between freezing cold, bright sunny days with no heat to speak of or deluges of rain, hail and actual snow and a total lack of anything approaching warmth for 99% of the time, this Spring is eminently forgettable, I am sure you will agree.

I could tell my Missus wasn’t inclined to bother going to St Andrews when she suggested, “do you not fancy going fishing somewhere over there for a change”.

I detected she wanted to be rid of me for the day.
