This is a tip to Stop your bugs tangling. Useful if you are apt to wander the banks of rivers in search of fishing spots with a leader of two or three heavily weighted tungsten beaded nymphs on your line. It is almost impossible to secure all your nymphs, except maybe the point one, to your rod keeper eye or rod rings. So at some point you are bound to have one or more of those heavily weighted bugs spin round your rod, your line or both.

You arrive at a promising fishing spot , release the point bug and….damn! the other two bugs are tangled in a birds nest of nylon.

Usually untying the bugs, sorting out the twists from your leader, is the best solution. With luck there won’t be any actual knots. But it takes time, and on ocassions you are forced to re-tie the entire leader. Not ideal when the fish are calling.

This very simple tip offers a solution that will hold each of your bugs in tension as you move and you will arrive on station, with no tangles ready to start fishing.

The elastic bands I recommend are the long thin ones, carry a few with your tools and you are sorted. be warned over time exposed to light the rubber usually perishes so you will want to replace them from time to time.
