I had not really intended to fish Sunday, after all the weather app on my phone suggested Sunday was to be a rotten day.

I didn’t want to tempt providence by heading out to try full on casting into the wind but fancied a wee hour out so headed off down the river for some nice light rod/light line nymphing as a good test for me.

Down to where the steadier water is, there was an abundance of fly life, a veritable smorgasbord of flying trout protein, but I saw maybe two fish rise and they were clearly tiddlers as I sat and watched.

a better outing than I expected given the changeable and windy conditions but you have to wish this wind would just blow off.

Humbled and Humiliated

So the river has humbled me totally this week. Tonight I fish a totally different style up at Lake of Menteith in the Scottish clubs heats, I am expecting humiliation.
