A great wee blog post this week on the Tamanawis Blog: A Glossary of fishing terms by the apparently recently married wife of the Blogger Mike Tamaniwis. Some very apt observations, I especially liked the one about Fishing Magazines. As a purchaser of some of the “usual” monthlies I have to agree its all a bit crap at times, looking at some picture of a middle-aged guy sitting huddled in a boat holding a Rainbow Trout ( Yeah I know like me) except I quite often don’t have the Rainbow Trout, so holding an empty space is infinitely less interesting and I am generally alone when I fish so there is no one there to take a pic of my moments of glory (few such as they are).
Don’t come here looking for my own better half writing up something similar. The computer simply stops working any time she comes within about 4 feet, she has some sort of weird electromagnetic field, something akin to EMP discharged by an atomic bomb which renders all electronics utterly useless in her presence. No exaggeration, this is a simple fact and I have observed this many times. But I think were she to read the post she would agree with many of Mrs Tamaniwis observations- yours probably will too (if she has not already left you, and taken the house and the kids- due to the time you spend by rivers, lakes, lochs or stream obsessing over fish!)
