It happened to me a while back, it fell off in the winter, but I couldn’t replace my rubber and its been bothering me ever since. Nothing worse than the hard end clattering on the bottom, it definitely reduces your chances at close range. Not to mention the looks of other’s nearby who roll their eye’s or shake their heads in disgust.
But its sorted now, a new rubber is firmly fitted in place and I have even got a few more in case one falls off again in action.
Of course you will be well aware I am talking about the rubber ferrule on the end of my wading stick. Damned thing was sucked into the soft bottom (ooer does that sound rude?) of the River Tweed last winter never to be seen again. I have been after a replacement ever since and today stumbled across them on ebay- only a couple of quid for 4 and came next day. The end of my staff (ooer again missus) is 19mm in diameter the same as a walking stick so a perfect fit.
