Today was the Annual Christmas fishing competition at Swanswater in aid of Strathcarron Hospice. The weather was remarkably settled compared to both what we have had since Christmas day (Gales) and what’s forecast for tomorrow more gales!

It’s my local, and the commercial fishery I visit most, being as its walking distance from my house; a good walk, but walkable. But it’s still my bogey location. I can fish places I have never been and come away with something, but Swanswater continues to confound me.

Fishing on the lawn

A visit to a new place for me today, Linlithgow Loch- you can read more about the actual place on my fishery reviews page which will be up about the same time as this post.

It was reported on the radio as I buzzed over to Linlithgow that the weather was to dry up mid-morning for a settled afternoon, in the usually reliable Met Office fashion it rained all morning and right through to about three in the afternoon. Not torrential or driving rain, just that all-encompassing drizzly rain that seems to saturate everything.
