I had another couple of fruitless hours on the Carron last night though it was still thoroughly enjoyable to be out and enjoying the long evenings that this time of year brings to us fly fishers in Scotland.  I was in two minds whether to hit the river or maybe visit one of the local commercial stillwaters that I have been meaning to get to for a while but, as all my river gear was ready to go I could not be bothered swapping stuff around so the river it was. I haven’t fished the Horsemill Inn beat this year so I headed there and after a cursory glance over the bridge to check the conditions below, headed down stream first.
