There was a pretty strong wind at times but it was vary mild and when the sun came out it was very pleasant indeed. The odd fish showed near the surface towards 5pm but I think they were hitting the numerous minnows around the place.

Not been up to much of late on the fishing front. I have been hoping to get out for a few hours on the Grayling but weather conditions and subsequently river levels put the kybosh on that. So I have done an immense amount of fly tying in the down days.

It was VERY cold, the air temp was around 1 degree above freezing but the easterly wind was bitter, and it felt a lot colder, it said on the Met Office APP “Feels like -6 and it did. The flip side was the wind was keeping the ice from forming on much of the main loch. Only the shallow area behind the island remained frozen. Frozen rod rings though were to prove a difficulty.

My present for Christmas this year was a Tenkara rod, something I hope to be able to have a go at in the new trout season. I have heard of anglers fishing Tenkara for Grayling in winter but I will leave it for the Brownies in March+.
