Devon day out

I decided to have my first day out on the River Devon, that runs from Glen Devon down to Menstrie.

This was not so much a fishing trip as an exploratory trip as I really don’t know the area at all and am not sure of the best places for access or indeed for fishing, So I worked on the principle that if I started at the most “remote” end and work down I would be doing the right thing. I followed the river up to Castlehill Reservoir and went down to the top bridge on this stretch at Dunning Bridge.

Last day for the Ladies: River Tweed 25th March 2011

Decided to head off down the Tweed today for a final day of fishing for the Lady of the Stream- the Grayling. There is no formal Grayling open or closed season in Scotland- unlike England, but the Peebleshire Trout Fishing Association request not targetting them from 1st April through to end of June, their breeding season. The Trout fishing does not start formally on the Tweed until 1st April either.
