Read MoreI am down in Llangollen for the weekend to fish the Dee with John Emerson and Hywel Morgan and had a cheeky wee session with Hywel and John pre official course. The weather was brilliant for the time of year, sunny all day and quite fresh, but very very pleasant for a day on the river.

Its almost time to forget evenings by some river or loch and content myself with the grabbed opportunities of winter fishing some of the Rainbow fisheries in the area, and getting out after the Ladies of the Stream- the Grayling.
Read MoreDecided to head off down the Tweed today for a final day of fishing for the Lady of the Stream- the Grayling. There is no formal Grayling open or closed season in Scotland- unlike England, but the Peebleshire Trout Fishing Association request not targetting them from 1st April through to end of June, their breeding season. The Trout fishing does not start formally on the Tweed until 1st April either.
