I have decided to have a go at making a SBS video of one of my favourite flies for Grayling fishing, the Red Tag Jig Bug.

It was very icy down there but I arrived just at sunrise and had the river to myself. I set up two rods both with french leaders and different sets of bugs.

I ventured out to Orchill yesterday for my first 4 hour session in almost 2 months as it’s the first time I felt up to it. Had it been a nicer week before hand I very possibly may have headed off in pursuit of the Grayling...

Last night the weather forecast was set fair, so I was hopeful, if I felt Ok , that I might make it out for a few hours today. I quite fancied heading further afield ( again depending how I felt) its only worth the travel if I can fish 4 hours I reckon.

I decided to chance my luck this weekend. Its a call out week and ordinarily I only fish on call, when I can go somewhere that’s “free”, paying for a ticket only to be called away isn’t usually wise.
