I fully expected to be on my own up there, but there was in fact another angler, fishing from the South bank to get some shelter from the wind. I rarely ever fish the South bank, its quite weedy in places and I rarely see any fish.

A visit to a new place for me today, Linlithgow Loch- you can read more about the actual place on my fishery reviews page which will be up about the same time as this post.
It was reported on the radio as I buzzed over to Linlithgow that the weather was to dry up mid-morning for a settled afternoon, in the usually reliable Met Office fashion it rained all morning and right through to about three in the afternoon. Not torrential or driving rain, just that all-encompassing drizzly rain that seems to saturate everything.

The plan hatching in my head Sunday morning was to get out fairly sharp after walking the dog and go somewhere different. However I then realised I had a few other tasks to get round and ended up cutting steel, up to my elbows in manky drain water, and jet washing a roof!

Went up to the River Devon on Saturday for a few hours, as much to get a bit of a cast and a walk at the same time. Had not been out all week with the Manflu being prevalent in my space!

I went up to North Third today for a day out in a boat and hoping for some good sport. To be honest I won’t bore you with the entire tale but in short I fished from 10:00 in the morning to 16:45 and never had the merest sniff of interest from a fish.
