The pager seems to go all the time just now on call, and having spent all Friday evening on a call out, and then Saturday morning, it was kind of hard to decide whether heading out for a couple of hours was wise.

Oh what the heck, I flung the waders and a rod in the back of the car and headed up to Pendreich. It was a perfect trout fishing afternoon. Cloudy and warm with a fairly gentle breeze from the west. There were quite a few anglers on the dam wall, one up at the narrows into the nature reserve and one other tackling up and headed for the South bank. With my waders on that left the north bank though I then realised there was a guy fishing from a chair set up on the bank! I went by and headed up the top end of the north bank with a view of maybe even giving the weedy area on the east side a fish, the wind needs to be just right for this. As it stood the dam wall area was flat calm and the anglers there said nothing was moving and no one was catching. One was in the process of putting on a sinking line.
