The loch is quite a daunting stretch of water and can be very challenging despite being very well stocked throughout the season. It can fish its head off on good days but equally can be insurmountably dour. This tends to be the nature of Brown Trout waters generally and Coulter is no exception. There is little shelter at the loch so its best not to bother even going if the trees are moving at “normal” ground level, as it will be blowing a gale up there! The facilities, for a club water are first class and very good value. I strongly recommend if you are at all interested in the offering LASAC have, of getting your name down on the membership list. You won’t regret it.

Elinor Trout Fishery is a water of about 50 acres near Corby in Northamptonshire. It is classed as a small stillwater but at this size is very much on the fringe of small getting on for moderately sized. Fishing is from the bank...

This is a fairly new location for trout fishing in Central Scotland, opening I believe in 2011. Located in Torwood, near Larbert it consists of two ponds, the larger of which is fly only, the smaller, fly and bait fishing. With a few years under its belt the fishery is now well established among local anglers and features in the catch reports of local newspapers. On a recent visit it was apparent that the fishery has a loyal and regular custom. The lady who runs the place, I beleive her name is Marika, is very welcoming and always offering anglers cups of tea and coffee.
