Getting them in

I will be keeping this post short and it is likely to be my last for a few weeks. This morning I had to get some of my finger joints injected, the old arthritis continues to do its nasty work and I won’t be able to hold a rod and line I don’t think, for the rest of the week and after, I am away on holidays for a week. I am also typing this one-handed- hence the brevity!

I had de-greased my tippet but it was evident to me in the mirror flat calm that even the smallest indication of line on the surface was putting the fish off, a trout rose right for my midge and at the last second refused. All I could tell was I could see about an inch of tippet on the water where it lead to the fly.
