The box of flies I have been putting together over the last 3 months for charity is now up for auction for Lets Tackle Cancer on the Fly Forums Website.
There are over 140 flies of assorted types in there, everything from traditional bushy wet flies, modern dabbler and bumble variants, buzzers, Diawl Bachs, Crunchers, Nymphs and micro nymphs, Blobs, Boobies, Eggs, a good selection of dries down to miniscule Griffiths Gnats and big bushy Stimulators. A selection of CDC F Flies and Shuttlecock Buzzers, a team of Cormorants, and some Stillwater lures and Damsels. Finally there are a number of Sakasa Kebari style river spiders and Grayling bugs. Enough for any situation you find yourself in. Maybe ideal for the angler starting out who does’nt know what he wants to try, or the seasoned angler who wants a selection to pop in the car to use ad hoc on his travels.
I have also labelled all the flies by name or type so you know what they are meant to be. I don’t claim to be the world best fly tier or anything but they should catch you fish!
Please consider bidding on the flies, I would not want to put a value on them in term sof time or materials but it would be nice to think they would get more for Lets Tackle Cancer than they cost me otherwise I would have been as well donating the cost to the charity. Please be generous! The sooner we get Cancer sorted we can start Lets Tackle Arthritis!
